♥ My Sisters ♥

Of course not forgetting my sisters!! Even though we are miles apart but it doesn't feel like we are apart! (okay, that's a lie... I really wish I can go exploring and shopping and playing volleyball though I'm bad at it and just slacking around with them)

Just wanted to say I finished that box of handmade chocolate made by Shi Ling and Jing Wen! Thanks girls! They are absolutely yummy and I love love love it!! I almost forgot to take picture of it so.... there was only 2 left when I took it. xP

I must say I really appreciate these girls in my life. I truly can imagine when we are old and still be laughing our teeth out (if we still have them!).

We started out like how everybody else did, strangers. And then companion, then awkward friends, friends, close friends, best friends, and finally sisters.

I know I could never hold back my tears when you girls were sending me off at the airport. That's why I brought 5 packets of tissue, one for each of us. Though in the end only Si Xian needed it. Haha!

You girls are the few people that I wouldn't say "It's okay I don't want to bother you for sending me off that late". Because I know that I need to see you girls before I fly. Thanks for sending me off that day. :) I appreciate it a lot. :D

We all cried, as expected, and surprisingly, Shi Ling shed some tears too! Haha! It's okay girl, I'm not gone forever :P But we cried like I'm going to be away for years xD

To Si Xian:
You are my first close friend in Hua Yi and I really have no idea
how lucky we were
to be transferred into the same class.

That's how we know each other and that's how we became
the "machine gun" for talking non-stop in class.

Remember those times when we would write fanfictions using DBSK as our characters?
Funny days seriously xD

We didn't have as much HTHT as I had with Kai Wen
but still I feel just as close without having the need to spill all my secrets.

Somehow there aren't words that can really describe the bonds we share.

Thank you for being the "loner" of the class with me.
Thank you for all those times we shared during our lower sec period.

And thanks for bringing in Kai Wen into our clique. :)

To Kai Wen:
You are the damsel in distress,
the courageous heroine who have been through too much for her own age.
I really look up to you,
for still being sane after all those chaotic moments you have gone through.
(at least you have not landed up in IMH!)

I would have lost my mind, I would.

I like how you feel like our mommy, daddy, grandma,
and sometimes a stubborn little kid in our clique.

And sometimes you just are the perfect "boyfriend material". :P

But I'm really grateful for your presence which helped keep me sane. :D
Who can be crazier than you? xD

On a serious note:
You helped me open up more to Si Xian, Jing Wen, Shi Ling, and the others.
You helped me to appreciate skinship when I was really awkward with it at first.
You helped me to come clean with myself and my feelings.

Thanks to you I'm more sociable
and more acceptable to other's feelings and actions to me.
I became much more sensitive to how people feels.

Even though you girls may say I'm the Mommy of the clique,
I always feel that you are the support, the glue, the root
or whatever it is that connects us all together.

Thank you for being part of us.
I'm really glad to have "saved" you from those people.

You are the diamond in the rough. :)
Never look down upon your own worth!

P.S. I'm glad you met an awesome bunch of friend in poly
to help you along your journey in poly!

I'm really sorry I couldn't be with you at your darkest moment
but my thoughts will forever be back with you girls no matter where I am.

To Jing Wen:
If my memory is not failing me,
you are the fourth one to join our 5-members clique :)

You are the one brought to us by Kai Wen and I can say you add a good touch to our clique!
You are forever chatty and loud and forever easy-going.

Though I'm not as close as you are with Kai Wen,
I would say that I'm glad there's you to make a scene among us xD
which at times, can get quite dramatic xD

To be honest, I felt really touched that you and Shi Ling
made that chocolate coated brownie (?) for me as a "farewell" gift.
It's really nice of you two to make food for me *-* especially chocolate *Q*

I feel that you have grown to be more mature
and it's nice to see the lady in you. :)
(sometimes quite auntie tho :P)

In future, there would be more opportunities for me
to get to know you more and become closer to you :)

Hope that I will not miss the opportunity!

To Shi Ling:
Last but not least, our dearest Shi Ling!!

Still remember those times when we used to argue who's right and who's wrong?
When we couldn't agree on one thing and in the end started a "cold war"?

I have no idea how we went through those times
but I'm glad that you are still here with me,
enduring my temper and weird moments.

And most definitely, I'm glad you are able
to open up to us more and let us see a more
cheerful and lively Shi Ling :)

Even though you might still be awkward with us,
but I can most definitely see that we are much more closer now!

Heard that you GL Kai Wen when you guys went out for Korean BBQ? xD
GOOD JOB!! HAHA!

You don't have to worry about us being hurt by your comments.
What are friends without the funny jokes and tease?

You are supposed to be the "U" in U.JEMS
(originally our clique name but we find it too cliche and weird)

I bet you didn't know that was our clique name? HAHA! XD

Well now you know! :D

___________________________________________________________________________

U.JEMS was originated from JEM which consists of:
Si Xian (Jupiter)
Me (Earth)
Kai Wen (Mercury)

We decided to name our group name after the planets' initials

When Jing Wen joined us, she was the "S" in JEMS
as Saturn.

And U.JEMS was inspired by UKISS (a Korean pop group)

So... Shi Ling became the "U" of our clique
as Uranus.

And hence, the history of U.JEMS which we never used
because it sounded too ....

xD

To make it simple,
We are the Sisters Clique! ♥

♥ My Family ♥

This post is dedicated to my parents and my family members.

Thanks for supporting me on this overseas internship. It's not a cheap journey and it is certainly far away from home. I can see your worries, especially Mommy and Daddy, even if you all don't voice it out.

What prompted me to write this post is this message, which was sent by my mom last week (exact date I'm not very sure ><)

When she wrote "我在等你电话" (which means I'm waiting for your phone call), I can't help but break a little inside.

No matter how much I want to travel and explore the world, I have 2 loving parents and many more loving family and friends. I miss them. A lot.

Even till now, my mom will wait till 1+ am (Singapore time) for me to get back home and Skype her. I don't want her to stay up so late just to Skype with me but to be honest, I really want to see and hear her. Love you Mami <3 You are the best I could ever have.

And love you Daddy <3 Even though most of the time Mami and I Skype and you were already asleep, I still feel blessed to see your sleeping form. It's good to know that you are resting well. And I want to thank you a lot Daddy, because it's you who made this possible. You who made my surgery and this overseas trip possible.

***

Mami usually send some photos via Whatsapp and I would really like to share them with you guys! Most of them are Cody's photos because my mom want to show my korkor and jiejie what Cody is doing at home too.

I really love this photo! It shows the 3 "gentlemen" posing for the camera. Aren't they handsome? xD
Mami is really getting better at taking pictures now!

Look at Caleb's new hairstyle! Haha!

I'm missing these noisy and lively kids!

Sent by my second brother! They went to the beach with Cody! And Cody knows how to swim! Yay~

This naughty boy jumped up my parents' bed and laid beside my mom while she was sleeping~

I'm really looking forward to hug this little boy when I'm back in Singapore. Of course not forgetting my parents and whoever who wants my hug. ;D

You better queue up for my hug before it's gone! ;)

P.S My hugs are only subject to availability and the person requesting. :P

Day 3

A Monday with no Monday blues~ today is the first day of our internship!! The walk to the building was exciting because it's a new place after all.

Kristal didn't want to take photo so it's only me here. The typical pose in front of the name of a building, with hands inside the pocket trying to look cool but in actual fact it's because the wind was blowing and it was cold. Brrrrr~

And there's our buddy, Mr seagull, to welcome us. Haha kidding~

The meeting time was 10am but we reached at around 9+am.

Was expecting a lot for the first day but in the end we didn't do anything except getting some reading materials to read.

Since our supervisor wasn't in, we couldn't do anything without our access cards which requires her signature.

So instead of working in the lab, we were sitting around in the office reading.

Shhh!! Kristal knows I took picture of her but she didn't know I posted it on my blog!! >:)

Yeap basically we were like this for about 15 minutes? Before we go "this is boring!" and "I hope it's not like this tomorrow!"

And this was how my table looks like. Purposely made it messy ;D

Oh and those who wish I would get a boyfriend here? I wish too! But the guys here (as in in the same office) do not take initiative to say hi and too engrossed in their own work. And they seem to be quite old. Hmmm~ suddenly feel like a baby in the adult world~

The ladies are much more friendlier but not much interaction~ and I'm supposed to be here for internship, not to pa toh (date)! See I so guai (good)~

Anyway we left earlier, at around noon as Kristal got to open her bank. So off we go to the shopping area again.

While waiting for her, my mom called me via Line and it was so good to hear her voice again. Even the noisy birds sound at-home. Dad got on line for a while and told me that mom couldn't sleep at night because she misses me. I hope that really isn't the case.>< Teared up a little when I heard that. Because while I love to travel, I still can't forgot my family and friends back at home.

Love ya Dad and Mom❤️️ and my korkor and jiejie, 姐妹们 and poly friends. ❤️️❤️️❤️️

Miss you guys!!

P.S. I constantly upload photos on Facebook under the album "Liverpool". The link to my Facebook acct is at the side!

Day 2 (shopping & shopping)

Day 2 was pretty much a shopping day. Since it's a Sunday you know?

First picture of the day will be....

TADAH!!

Was at The Body Shop and then this sales assistant caught my eyes. Her make-up is really unique and bold. She told me to take photo of her make-up artist but that lady was busy doing makeup on some other people so I didn't. ><

And then we continue to shop~ oh we didn't buy anything from The Body Shop (oopsie!).

Went into a sport shop and I bought two tennis racquets, one for myself and one for Shi Ling. How can I let go of the chance to but a £18 (~$36) racquet?! I can't even find that kind of racquet with that kind of price in Singapore!

Super duper happy after purchasing it.

I also got a coat for myself as the weather was pretty cold but I don't want to keep layering my clothes.

Sometimes it's pretty warm when we are inside a building. (Anyway you can see me in the coat in the first picture at the next post.)

And then off we go to Starbucks where Kristal and I could finally use Whatsapp! (We couldn't use WA in our apartment because the school wifi blocked it.)

And these are the pictures I received when I use the Starbucks wifi:

From the left: Seok Yin, Shi Wei, Ren Jie, me

Look at how cute I was in the past!!! Okay the rest are cute as well~ ( ;D)

Haha! And the other photo is:

Cody hiding under the bed!! I miss him a lot>< miss petting him when I'm feeling down or just want a big huggy with some  wet licks.

Really miss my family, sisters and my friends when I finally got to WA them. Sooo happy!

P.S. I got a prepaid card and I can use WA in my apartment too. Yay!!

Day 1 (flight time + shopping)

It's time for updates!! Currently I'm on a 4 month internship at University of Liverpool. And on 28 February 2014, I flew to Manchester airport by SIA.

Personally I do enjoy this flight (other than not being able to sleep well), as the food were pretty nice I would say. Since the journey is long (about 16hrs) I decided to watch movies, only 2 though: The Book Thief and Ender's Game. I watched the second movie before but I really like the plot and graphics of it. Most importantly the main character, Ender (Asa butterfield) really acted well. Good job kiddo!

Anyway I won't post a lot of pictures here. Only those I would like to specially mention will be posted.

Sooo... The first picture goes to... *drum roll*

THIS!!

"Why this picture?" You guys may think but this picture actually shows the distance we travelled in total. From Singapore to Munich.

And can you see the "daylight" and "night time" line? Yeap we crossed over from day time to night time. So when the day is ending in Singapore, it's just the beginning of the day in Liverpool. Amazing isn't it?

After arriving at Manchester airport, we took a train down to Liverpool Lime station. I didn't video down the journey (I think) because the train was moving at a pretty high speed and there were too many trees blocking the view.

We were able to drink on the train and I drank hot chocolate~ Mmmmm yummy~
But then I have the problem of going to the toilet after drinking sooo... You can imagine how I felt on the 1 hour train ride. With no toilet...

Once we reached the station I went straight for the toilet but I have to pay 30 pence to go in. Geez I have no coins! So a kind lady paid for me (thanks again!) and I went in to relieve myself~

Then we took a cab down to Vine Court where we will be staying at for 3 mths plus.

I think it was around noon when we put down our luggages before heading out again to eat and to shop.

And this was what we saw at the shopping district. Minion!!! How cute and big is that? Haha!

So we were in this area for quite a while and also shopped for some groceries at the Chinese supermarket and co-op near our apartment.

That's pretty much what happened the whole day. And we were dead tired by 7pm and fell asleep by 8+pm.

Jet lagged.... Can't be helped~
